Photography

At the age of fourteen, I fell in love with photography. Starting in my back garden, I slowly transition to a multitude of different projects.

Below are two projects I have worked on in the past few years. One highlights some of the most powerful images of the last decade. The other features a photo essay focused on sounds. Both of these presentations were for my Master’s program.

Sounds: A Photo Essay

Sounds: A Photo Essay

One of my favorite projects in my Master’s program, my professor challenged me to create a visual story that came alive.

I decided to come up with a photo essay that focused on sounds. My goal was to create an image that you could almost hear when looking at the photo.

With my camera in hand, I focused on everyday tasks, getting out of bed, walking into work, and baking dinner in the oven. The sound of the sheets, the squeaky door hinge, and the metal pan hitting the rack on the stove seemed to become a part of the image.

For this project, I created a PechaKucha presentation focusing on 20 slides for 20 seconds. I needed to stay on topic and create flawless transitions, so the content was easy to understand and follow. Besides the voiceover, selecting only a handful of photos provided to be very difficult. I looked at photographs from photographers from across the globe. Through extensive research and attention to detail that I selected the final images that displayed exciting and tragic events to emotions like happiness, fear, and love.
